Kenneth Bair, PhD
Kenneth W. Bair, Ph.D. is Senior Vice President and Head of R&D with Forma Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Bair has over 25 years of management
experience in oncology drug discovery, development and chemistry. Previously, Dr. Bair served as Senior Vice President of R&D with EntreMed, and with Chiron Corporation. Prior to joining Chiron in 2003, Dr. Bair was Vice President, Discovery Oncology at Pharmacia Corporation. From 1982 until joining Pharmacia, Dr. Bair held positions of increasing responsibility within the pharmaceutical industry, including Unit Head of Oncology at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation;Executive Director and Head, Oncology Research Program, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation; and various oncology research positions at Burroughs Wellcome. Dr. Bair also serves on the Board of Directors of the Keystone Symposia.
Simon Campbell, CBE FRS PhD
Dr. Campbell has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as Senior Vice President for Worldwide Discovery and Medicinals R&D Europe at Pfizer. He has co-authored over 110 publications and patents, and was a key member of the research teams that discovered Cardura, Norvasc, and Viagra. His scientific contributions have been recognized by the Royal Society of Chemistry Award for Medicinal Chemistry (1989), the Herschberg Award from the American Chemical Society (1997), and the Industry Research Institute (US) Achievement Award (1997). Dr. Campbell is a Past President of the Royal Society of Chemistry, was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1999, was appointed CBE by the Queen in 2006 for Services to Science, and in 2007 was awarded the prestigious Galen Medal in Therapeutics.
Barry Furr, OBE FMedSci PhD
Former Chief Scientist and Head of the Project Evaluation Group at AstraZeneca, Professor Furr has vast experience in the area of anticancer drug discovery as well as many years spent in the areas of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal inflammation research. He is a past Chairman of the Society for Endocrinology, Fellow of both the Academy of Medical Sciences and Institute of Biology, and is a trustee of Cancer Research UK and the Breast Cancer Campaign. His research and leadership has led to multiple pharmaceutical treatments, for a variety of cancers, which are currently benefiting patients around the globe. This work has also been recognized by numerous awards, including The Society for Drug Research Award for the discovery and development of Zoladex, The Jubilee Medal of the Society for Endocrinology for cancer research and services to Endocrinology, and the Officer of Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to cancer drug discovery.
