Avila: Leadership in Covalent Drugs We are pioneering a method to discover and develop new small-molecule medicines that achieve 'protein silencing' to create highly effective therapies for a broad range of diseases. We are able to silence the activity of disease-causing proteins by selectively forming strong and durable covalent bonds. While there are approved covalent drugs that arose from serendipitous discovery, we are the first company to design and develop targeted covalent drugs robustly, systematically and across the vast majority of target classes. This is enabled by our proprietary Avilomics™ platform. Our targeted covalent drugs have the potential to achieve exceptional therapeutic benefits because they are designed to solve critical therapeutic challenges by precisely inhibiting targets and by addressing resistance mutations. We are developing a pipeline of novel, targeted covalent drugs with a current focus on cancer, autoimmune diseases, and hepatitis C. Led by an interdisciplinary team of successful industry professionals, we will exploit the enormous potential of targeted covalent drugs to treat diseases in new and better ways.
